NTR’s grandson and Nandamuri Mohan Krishna’s son Tarak Ratna married girlfriend Alekya Reddy in a simple ceremony at the city’s Sanghi temple on Thursday night. The actor had reportedly moved out and had been living-in with fashion designer Alekya for the past one-and-a-half years. She had even designed the actor’s costumes for Nandees-warudu.
However, Nandamuri family members were conspicuous by their absence as they were reportedly against the union. Aleyka is a divorcee and the estranged daughter-in-law of late home minister Madhava Reddy. So, despite numerous uncles, aunts and star kin like Balakrishna it was a quiet day for the groom.
Close friends were also surprised. A source, a ‘next-gen actor’, revealed, “We thought that he was just flirting with her. We didn’t know who this girl visiting our sets was and later came to know that she was designing Tarak’s costumes... but they have become a couple now, strange are the ways of Tollywood relationships.”
Despite the low-key wedding, Tarak will be hosting a party for the Telugu film fraternity. A source within the Nandamuri family said, “Mohan Krishna is one the richest among NTR’s seven sons and could afford a big fat wedding but due to Tarak’s relationship with the divorcee, the family stayed away. Despite repeated requests by the family, Tarak decided to follow his heart.”
